Bible, the Word of Christians and God
God’s people who were saved by God’s love and the Cross of Jesus Christ, His children must first know, through the Bible, who God is, what he wants from His people, His children, and what Jesus Christ said.
The Bible says.
And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?(Deuteronomy Chapter 10 Verses 12,13)
Please do not work without the Word, do not serve without the Word, and do not run a ministry without the Word. That is like working without eating. We will face a tragic loss.
Those who have come into faith, those who have tasted the living water and ate the food of life through Jesus Christ, not by anything else in the world but because of that grace, they are filled with joy. And most people want to do something for God before they know God enough, before they know His desire and His will. Sometimes they are devoted to prayer and are dedicated and eager to serve Him in the education department, institutional service, in the parking lot or even in the kitchen. They regularly go on short-term missionary trips and try to fill the gaps that were made when they did not serve God during the year. However Before we do anything with the name of a Christian, we must know who God is and what God wants us to do. We can know God and His desire through the Bible, the Word of Life, which God has given us as a revelation. It is because in the Bible, God has already revealed to us what the good and perfect will of God is. God revealed it in the Bible.
The Bible Says
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.(Deuteronomy Chapter 6 Verses 5-9)
The Bible Says
When he takes the throne of his kingdom, he is to write for himself on a scroll a copy of this law, taken from that of the Levitical priests. It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life so that he may learn to revere the Lord his God and follow carefully all the words of this law and these decrees and not consider himself better than his fellow Israelites and turn from the law to the right or to the left. Then he and his descendants will reign a long time over his kingdom in Israel.(Deuteronomy Chapter 17 Verses 18-20)
Moses, before his death, preached his will with the anxiety of vomiting blood to the Exiled Israel.
Besides this, in various places in the Bible, Christians declare that it is God"s command to live by holding onto the Word of God.

Joshua Chapter 22 Verse 5, Chapter 23 Verse 6
1 Chronicles Chapter 28 Verses 7-9
The Bible Says
Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.(Joshua Chapter 1 Verses 6-8)
This is what God said to Joshua after the death of Moses and before the conquest of Canaan.
The Bible Says
When the time drew near for David to die, he gave a charge to Solomon his son. “I am about to go the way of all the earth,” he said. “So be strong, act like a man, and observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go.(1 Kings Chapter 2 Verses 1-3)
King David, who represents the Old Testament with Abraham, left these words in his will.
If Christians hold onto the Word of God, obey it, and love God and love their neighbors, we are sinners justified because of the merits of the Blood of Jesus Christ. Yet, because we are still sinners, we will go back to our self-centered life, the king"s life.
Our prayers and fasting are just for ourselves, for us to push for our requests.
The Bible says.
‘Why have we fasted,’ they say, ‘and you have not seen it? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you have not noticed?’ “Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please and exploit all your workers. Your fasting ends in quarreling and strife, and in striking each other with wicked fists. You cannot fast as you do today and expect your voice to be heard on high. Is this the kind of fast I have chosen, only a day for people to humble themselves? Is it only for bowing one’s head like a reed and for lying in sackcloth and ashes? Is that what you call a fast, a day acceptable to the Lord?(Isaiah Chapter 58 Verses 3-5)
In addition, our hard work, devotion, and service are only to show ourselves unless we are being denied by the Word.
The Bible says
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”(Matthew Chapter 22 Verses 37-40)
The Bible says
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.(John Chapter 13 Verse 34)
Through the whole Bible, Jesus told what the most important thing was.
The Bible says
Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.(Luke Chapter 9 Verse 23)
Jesus clearly told us how to like a Christian life following Jesus Christ.
Therefore Christians
First, Christians must regard God"s Word as life. (Nehemiah Chapter 9 Verse 29/ Acts Chapter 5 Verse 20/ Philippians Chapter 2 Verse 16/ 1 John Chapter 1 Verse 1).
Second, Christians must pray based on that Word. (Joshua Chapter 9 Verses 1-15/ Matthew Chapter 6Verses 25-34).
Third, Christians must obey the Word.(Joshua Chapter 6 Verses 1-27/ Deuteronomy Chapter 1 Verse 36).
Fourth, Christians must not sin on the basis of that Word (Joshua Chapter 7 Verses 1-26).
Lastly, Christians must go forward with faith based on the Word. (Psalms 37 Verse 5/ Isaiah Chapter 26 Verses 3,4).
Therefore Christians based on the Word, the people of God who became children of God by grace alone, should hold onto the Word and wrestle with it for a lifetime because the merit of the Blood of Jesus Christ was so great,
They devote themselves to hold onto the Word of God and keep it. Then, we begin to find out the reality of ourselves which we did not perceive as sin before. The closer we come to God through the Word, the more we discover our wickedness.
Then, we will recognize, acknowledge and confess that we cannot live without God"s grace. (Romans Chapter 7 Verses 14-25). Our ego does not grow because of our hard work, but we come closer to God and live in Christ because we realize that without Grace and without changing, we cannot live as God’s Children. (John Chapter 15 Verses 1-15). That is the sinner"s sanctification before the light of the World, Jesus Christ. It is not that I am getting better, but I realize that I am more and more impossible, so I hold onto the grace more. Therefore, Christians walk with God through the Word.
After all, we do not live according to our desires but hold God"s Word as our life by acknowledging God"s sovereignty.
The Word is Life. The Word is a Spiritual food that allows Christians to live as Christians. (Deuteronomy Chapter 8 Verse 3, Chapter 32 Verses 46, 47/ Matthew Chapter 4 Verse 4s)
The life of a Christian who believes in Jesus Christ and knows God through the Word of Life will always continue.
