Çö´ë½ÅÇÐÀÇ ±âÃÊ°¡ µÇ´Â °è¸ùÁÖÀÇ »ç»óÀº ±ÇÀ§¿Í Áø¸®ÀÇ Àã´ë°¡ Àΰ£ ¿ÜÀûÀÎ ±ÇÀ§°¡ µÇ´Â Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸ÀÇ ±ÇÀ§¿¡¼­ ¹þ¾î³ª Àΰ£ ½º½º·Î µ¶¸³ÀûÀ̸ç ÀÚÀ²ÀûÀÎ ±ÇÀ§¸¦ ¼¼¿ì¸ç, Çö´ë½ÅÇп¡¼­ Áø¸®´Â Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¸»¾¸¿¡¼­ ¹þ¾î³ª Àΰ£ÀÇ À̼ºÀÇ ÀÚÀ²¼º¿¡ ±Ù°ÅÇÏ°í ÀÖ´Ù. ÀÚÀ²ÁÖÀÇ´Â Àΰ£ÀÇ À̼ºÀ» ÃÖ°íÀÇ ±ÇÀ§·Î Áø¸®¸¦ Æò°¡ÇÏ°Ô µÈ´Ù. 

Ä­Æ®´Â ±âµ¶±³ÀÇ ÀÚÀ²ÀûÀÎ °è½Ã °³³ä (the Christian concept of autonomous), Áï Çϳª´Ô²²¼­ ¼º°æÀ» ÅëÇØ ½º½º·Î ÀÚ½ÅÀ» °è½ÃÇϽô °³³äÀ» ¿Ö°î½ÃÄÑ Àΰ£ÀÇ ÀÚÀ²ÀûÀÎ À̼ºÀ¸·Î (man’s autonomous reason) ¹Ù²Ù¾ú´Ù.

´Ù¸¥ ¸»·ÎÇÏ¸é º¸ÆíÀûÀÎ Àΰ£ÀÇ À̼º (universal human reason/ Bewußtsein überhaupt ÀÌ Áø¸®¸¦ ºÐº°ÇÏ´Â ÃÖ°íÀÇ ÆÇ´ÜÀÚ°¡ µÇ¾ú´Ù (ÀÌ ÁÖÁ¦´Â Immanuel Kant, Religion within the Limits of Reason Alone ¿¡¼­ Àß ¼³¸íÇÑ´Ù). ±×·¯¹Ç·Î “¹«¾ùÀÌ Áø¸®Àΰ¡”¸¦ ÆÇ´ÜÇÏ´Â ±âÁØÀº Çϳª´ÔÀÇ °è½ÃÀÎ ¼º°æÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï´Ù. »ç½Ç»ó Áø¸®¸¦ ÆÇ´ÜÇϱâ À§Çؼ­ °è½Ã°¡ ÇÊ¿äÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇϸç, Àΰ£ À̼ºÀÇ ÇÕ¸®¼º¿¡ ±Ù°ÅÇÑ´Ù. ±×·±µ¥ Ä­Æ®´Â ´«¿¡ º¸ÀÌ´Â ¼¼°è¸¦ “Çö»ó°è”(Phenomena)·Î ĪÇß°í, µ¿½Ã¿¡ Çö»ó°è¸¦ ¹þ¾î³­ º»ÁúÀûÀÎ ¼¼°è¸¦ “¹°ÀÚü (noumenal)ÀÇ ¼¼°è”·Î ºÐ·ùÇß´Ù. 

Çö»ó°è¸¦ ¹þ¾î³­ ¹°ÀÚü(noumena)ÀÇ ¼¼°è´Â 1) “¹° ÀÚü” (Thing in Itself; Ding an sich) À̸ç, 2) “Àΰ£ÀÇ ¿µÈ¥,” ±×¸®°í 3) “½Å”ÀÇ ¿µ¿ªÀÌ´Ù. Ä­Æ®ÀÇ “´©¹Ì³ª”ÀÇ ¼¼°è´Â ÇöóÅæÀÇ “À̵¥¾Æ” ¼¼°è¿Í Èí»çÇÏ´Ù. 

±×·¯¹Ç·Î Ä­Æ®¿¡ ÀÇÇϸé Çϳª´ÔÀ» ¿¬±¸ÇÏ°í Àΰ£ÀÇ ¿µÈ¥À» ¿¬±¸ÇÏ´Â ¿µ¿ª¿¡¼­´Â Àΰ£ÀÇ À̼ºÀ¸·Î´Â ºÒ°¡´ÉÇÏ´Ù°í ÁÖÀåÇÑ´Ù. Ä­Æ®´Â Àΰ£ÀÇ À̼ºÀ» ±âÃÊ·ÎÇÑ ÇÕ¸®¼ºÀ» °¡Áö°í´Â ½ÅÇבּ¸°¡ ºÒ°¡´ÉÇÏ´Ù°í ÁÖÀåÇÑ´Ù.
